DarkDawn picks up where Godsgrave ends, and Mia has just ‘killed’ Julius Scava and taken Jonnen. I really liked that group, and even though they all deserved better, I’m glad they were with Mia in the end.
Speaking of Sid, I loved the moment were they all leave the pub and decide to join Mia on her quest to The Moon by choice, it almost made me cry. You knew, the narrator warned you, that these would be her last few months before she gave her life to tear Godsgrave down. The moments that her and Sid, ‘Singer, Butcher and the rest where all sharing stories, her private moments with Ashlinn, the name game with Cloud, all had a bittersweet tone. If you wanted a saviour, perhaps you should’ve picked a girl who believes this world is worth saving.”ĭarkDawn had a slightly different tone to the previous two books, and you could tell Kristoff was allowing Mia to make some final memories with her friends before she dies. If you’re unaware, the story follows Mia Corvere, a vengeful daughter on a quest to kill those who murdered her parents and bother. This was a really satisfying conclusion, and I feel as though Mia got the ending, and death she deserved (not a spoiler, her death is told on page one of book one).
